Hyaluronan-iodine complex, a synergistic approach to healing chronic wounds at the International conference EWMA 2010
The European Wound Management Association held 20th annual conference on 26th-28th May 2010 in Geneva. Special symposium has been organized to share the experience with therapeutic product for wound healing produced by Contipro C from Czech Republic.
The therapeutic product Hyiodine, has been patented in more than 90 countries and it helps to heal the complicated, chronic wounds. First clinical trials of this product have been done in 2002 in cooperation with The Gerontological clinic of Faculty hospital in Hradec Králové (CZ). The Hyiodine was registered in 2003 as a medical device and from 2004 it is produced by the company Contipro C.
The efficiency of Hyiodine has been presented by MD. Robert A. Brenes, who tests the product on the long term basis in the hospital St. Mary in Connecticut (USA). “During 3 years of my work with this product, I have seen only a very few wounds, which were not healed after application of Hyiodine. Its excellent efficiency has been proved in treatment of the most complicated wounds, therefore, it could be even called a liquid gold from Czech Republic”. Next expert who spoke about the positive experience with this product was MD. Scott Cairns, British surgeon from the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery, who is author of more than 40 scientific and medical papers about microbiology and wound healing.
“We are very happy, our product has been presented on such an important conference, attended by the world leading scientists and medical doctors. It is very prestigious appreciation of the quality of our work”, said the CEO of Contipro Group Dr. Vladimír Velebný.
At the end of the symposium participants were lively discussing the role of hyaluronic acid in wound healing process and majority of them evaluated this specialized symposium positively.
EWMA - European Wound Management Association, networks hospitals and experts dealing with chronic and complicated wounds. It was founded in 1991 to support education, research and treatment prevention of wounds. The annual International conference is devoted to the presentation of the best projects and products and is highly attended by the recognized professionals. Presentation of pharmaceutical companies active in the wound healing is a consistent part of the congress.

The company Contipro is producing an active pharmaceutical ingredients as well as full pharmaceutical ingredients. Their raw materials are also used in cosmetics or in nutrition.
